Winemakers, some of those I have visited and my comments

Here I try to keep up with the wineries I have visited... far from complete....

Azienda Fea Agricola

A lovely Winery with a selection of wines made with good taste and love for the craft. Within walking distance from our house in Calosso. If you happen to walk by do not forget to say hi to their lovely dog Zoe.  Wines I personally like to give special mention are:

Beatrice - a golden colored white wine. Dry and spicy with hints of flowers, fruit and citrus. It is made on Muscat di Canelli o di Alessandria grapes with an unusual for the grape type 13% alcohol strength.

La Marchisa - is a Barbera d’Asti Superiore DOCG made with 100% Barbera grapes. An intense ruby red with hints of garnet and the taste of dry, elegant, full body, red wine. A Barbera d'Asti Superiore must have  have an alcoholic strength of at least 12.5% by volume, and be aged for at least 14 months, 6 months of which stored in oak or chestnut barrels. Many superiore producers refine it in small oak barriques to obtain a rounder taste.  The superiore wine has a strong additional aging potential; it can often be aged from ten to twenty years.

Valter Bosticardo makes a number of really nice wines. He has a rare grape, Gamba di pernice - if you have a chance to try the grape itself before harvest, do it. Makes excellent wine as well. I however enjoyed their Barbera 2020. Very distinct taste,  for such a young wine - almost like a "nature wine"... maybe it is?

l'armangia

A clear favorite of mine. Lovely Chardonnay and the Barbera is great, smooth and exactly the way I on most days like a Barbera to be.

Bussi Piero

We just came barging into their Cantina a Saturday morning in September, and was met with lovely service, a Cortese 2020 with a bit of sting and a great Chardonnay. I would like to try out their red wines but we did not have the time at the the time.

ONORATA LANGHE FAVORITA DOC
Comes from the winery  near Canale in Roero. A white wine made on the fairly unknown grape variety "Favorita" - some say it is also called Vermentino. It has a yellow bright color with some greenish reflections. Fresh and intense aroma of flowers and apple. The taste is citrine fresh and delicate, slightly mineral with a soft finish. Perfect for a warm summer day and should be served at 10-12° C

Their Roero Riserva DOCG. Made from the close to mythical Nebbiolo grape. the grape itself is named after the "nebbia" - the dense fog you find in the are during Autumn and Winter. In the Roero hills wines it is tradition to make wine from the Nebbiolo grape and it is the pride and tradition of the farmers.
This wine stands out for its pleasant fruity aromas, great complexity and elegance.

The name "Roero" without any further specification is reserved for red wines made from a minimum of 95% Nebbiolo grapes with the addition of 2%–5% of non-aromatic red varieties. Roero Riservas must be aged in cellars at least 32 months total, with a minimum of six months spent in wood barrels.
